Countdown is designed for middle school and junior high students. The reading requirements for this product are at fifth grade reading level, making it appropriate for special populations.

NCE Career Clusters and Fields

Nebraska Career Education's six Career Fields and 16 Career Clusters are linked to occupational information found in Countdown.

IDEAS-(available as an add-on)

IDEAS helps students identify their interests and match them with occupations. IDEAS is available in Spanish

Personal Learning Plan

The Personal Learning Plan is an electronic portfolio where students can save and organize career information and do academic planning. The Personal Learning Plan can be easily moved to CIS when students enter high school.

Course Planner is used for students to map out courses from sixth grade through college

Education and Work History allows students to store information that can be used to create resumes.

My Career Plan

Students set up a career plan. In the process, they answer three questions: Who am I? Where am I going? How do I get there? The outcome is a career action plan and high school course plan.

Online Learning Activities

Access to searchable, printable classroom activities, lessons and worksheets for middle school students.

Occupations

Students can learn about over 400 occupations. Each occupation file includes work tasks, wages and outlook, preparation after high school, and recommended high school courses.
