Engineering and Technology Pathway

To work in the Engineering and Technology pathway, you would solve problems involving design, development, or production. You would work on projects to evaluate problems and develop and test solutions. You could also provide advice and consultation.

Pathway Knowledge and Skills

The pathway knowledge and skills are more specific than those linked to the cluster. When you learn and practice the knowledges and skill you are preparing for specific jobs. Jobs like those listed below. You would study these knowledges and skills in classrooms in high school and college. You could also learn them through mentoring, internships, and on the job.

Apply concepts and processes as defined by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics in Principles and Standards for School Mathematics.

Apply concepts and processes as defined by the National Research Council in the National Science Education Standards, and by the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Benchmarks for Science Literacy. Apply concepts and processes as defined in the Standards for Technological Literacy: Content for the Study of Technology. Use information technology applications. Manage, develop, and improve Information Technology (IT) tools. Apply technological content concepts, and principles. Model technical competence. Examine elements of the design process. Demonstrate and apply the design process.
